THE best time to visit the seal colony at Horsey is between November and late January. More than a thousand grey seals come ashore to give birth to their distinctive white-furred pups. An awesome experience.

JUST a short distance from Winterton, Poppylands tearoom offers an immersive experience, complete with staff dressed in Second World War costume and the occasional appearance by Private Pike.

Winterton Church Tower

ONE of the highlights of a visit to Winterton is the opportunity to stand at the top of the church tower and take in the stunning view. Open to the public between May and late September

Horsey Windpump

ONE of more than 240 dotted all over the Norfolk Broads. They were used to keep the land drained by pumping water from the ditches - known in Norfolk as dykes - into the tidal waterways.
