Three Acres B&B

THIS comfortable bed and breakfast in the village of West Somerton has the best of both worlds, sandwiched between the Broads national park and the Norfolk coast.

It offers a large master bedroom with ensuite shower room or a two-room family suite with a double, twin beds and a cot. The house has WiFi and ample parking. Surrounded by paddocks and with views towards the coast and nearby Horsey Mere, it is close to a village pub and only a few minutes' drive to unspoilt Winterton-on-Sea where there is a pub, post office, village shop and beach café.

Somerton beach is around 30 minutes' walk and Horsey Mere, with its historic wind pump and boat trips around the nature reserve is five minutes in the car. The area is great for walking and cycling and is very popular with birdwatchers because it is home to rare breeds like marsh harriers, terns and bittern. In winter hundreds of grey seals come ashore at Horsey to have their pups, making a spectacular sight.

Miles and miles of unspoilt sandy beach and dunes at Winterton and Somerton are within easy reach of the Annexe. Both are dog friendly all year round.

Beaches

Winterton is one of the nearest coastal villages to the Broads and hiring a dayboat from a nearby yard is a great way to enjoy this national park. Most welcome dogs.

Hundreds of grey seal pups are born on the beach at nearby Horsey each winter and a special viewing area is set up for visitors to take in the spectacular sight.
