A Hidden Gem

BOUNDED by a stunning sandy beach and acres of beautiful dunes on one side and wide open views of the countryside on the other, Winterton-on-Sea is one of Norfolk's best kept secrets.

This ancient fishing village with its 300-year-old pub and picturesque flint church is the perfect get away-from-it-all destination, whatever the season. During the summer families wanting a traditional bucket and spade holiday have acres of space in which to play, while winter draws travellers seeking peace, raw beauty and the chance to see wonderful wildlife like grey seal pups and terns.

A world away from the brash, bright lights of nearby seaside towns, Winterton boasts two village shops, a pub, a restaurant, a beach cafe and a chip shop.

It is on the doorstep of the Norfolk Broads, a short drive to many of the area's attractions and just 40 minutes by road to the fine city of Norwich.

All this makes it a perfect venue for a break with the children, a romantic weekend, a family get-together or even a wedding.
